Beachfront Villas in Barbados

Explore Icon Private Collection's hand-picked beachfront villas in Barbados.

Barbados has two very different coastlines. The Atlantic east coast is dramatic and wave-lashed; the Caribbean west coast, the so-called Platinum Coast, is calm, clear and the reason the island became a winter fixture. Every beachfront villa in our Barbados collection sits on that sheltered western shore.

This is a coast of coral-stone houses with mahogany interiors and lawns that run straight onto sand. The stretch around Sandy Lane in St James remains the island's most prestigious, with Holetown's restaurants a short drive away and hawksbill turtles feeding off Paynes Bay. Further north, towards Mullins and Speightstown, the beaches become quieter and the houses more private. Dinner on the west coast means The Lone Star, a converted garage on the sand at Mount Standfast, or The Cliff, whose torch-lit tiers hang directly above the water.

The season runs from December to April, with Christmas, New Year and the February half-term in highest demand. Polo season and Test cricket at Kensington Oval bring their own crowds.
