Villa Veneziano
Villa Veneziano sits in the hills of Perigiali, above Nydri on the east coast of Lefkada, looking across the Ionian to Meganissi and the island of Skorpios, once the private retreat of the Onassis family. Built in 2009, it was conceived as a tribute to Christina Onassis, its view fixed on the island so closely tied to her family's story.
The architecture draws on Venetian and Byzantine influences, recalling the centuries when the Ionian Islands looked to Venice, and the house is set within a garden of around 2,000 square metres.
Five suites sleep up to twelve guests, most with sea views, and each bears a name that nods to the villa's story. A private pool with a pool house and terrace looks out over the water, and a dedicated yoga shala with sea views makes the villa a natural choice for retreats and wellness programmes as well as family holidays.
The surrounding waters are a sailor's delight, with the coves of Meganissi, the islands of the inner Ionian and the harbour of Nydri all close by. An on-site villa manager and concierge look after the stay, and a private chef, butler, boat trips, massage and VIP transfers can all be arranged.
