Villa Astor

Villa Astor sits on the quiet eastern edge of Saint-Tropez, looking straight out across the Baie des Canoubiers. Once the gamekeeper's house of a far larger estate, it has been redecorated throughout and now stands on 2,500 square metres of its own grounds, around 100 metres from the water and an easy walk into the village. Les Canoubiers, the beach long associated with Brigitte Bardot, is a couple of minutes away on foot.

The house sleeps 12 across six double bedrooms. Four are on the upper floor, each with sea views, and three of those have full en-suite bathrooms with bath and shower. Two garden-level bedrooms open directly onto the pool. A separate pool-house bedroom with its own shower room is set aside for a chef or nanny. Outside, there is a large pool, a summer kitchen with pizza oven, a shaded dining terrace, a massage pergola and a fully equipped gym.

What sets Villa Astor apart from almost every other rental in Saint-Tropez is the boat. The motor yacht Caniche is included in the stay, with a captain on hand from 9am to 6pm, six days a week. She is moored in the bay in front of the villa as well as berthed in the port, so a lunch at Club 55 or a day of swimming off Pampelonne starts at the villa's own pier rather than the harbour. The captain doubles as a driver for transfers around the peninsula.

A resident chef, who has cooked in Saint-Tropez for nearly two decades, works six days a week and handles everything from family lunches to larger dinners, along with local restaurant bookings. Daily housekeeping and a house manager complete the team.

For families, the Canoubiers sailing club is on the doorstep, with kayaks, paddleboards, e-foils and summer camps for children. Tennis coaching, golf at the private Gassin course, massage, yoga and personal training can all be arranged.
