Villa Amore
Villa Amore stands on the cliffs at Zoagli, a small seaside town on Liguria's eastern Riviera, looking out over the Gulf of Tigullio. Portofino lies along the coast in one direction and the Cinque Terre in the other, yet Zoagli itself keeps a gentler, more local rhythm.
The villa was built in 1928 in the Art Deco style as a romantic gesture, and its restoration has kept that spirit intact. Original painted ceilings and frescoed walls sit alongside a grand Carrara marble staircase, while brass lamps by Bottega Gadda and the famous light-framed Chiavari chairs, made just along the coast, bring in the craftsmanship of the region. Even the linens are made to order for the house.
Arranged over three levels, each with sea views, the villa has five en-suite bedrooms for ten guests. The most romantic sits at the top of the belvedere tower, opening on two sides towards the gulf. A dining room seats twelve, and the living room is made for lingering over books, music and long conversations.
Outside, a small heated infinity pool appears to float above the sea, with an outdoor kitchen and barbecue nearby and a compact gym with its own outdoor space. Staff visit daily and remain on call, and a private chef, cooking classes, boat hire along the coast and wellness treatments can all be arranged.
