Palacio de Figueras

Palacio de Figueras

Palacio de Figueras is a 16th-century palace above the Eo estuary in Asturias, on the natural border between Asturias and Galicia. Once the home of the Pardo de Donlebún family, it has been painstakingly restored by Vestige Collection, with original beams, stonework and floors brought back by craftsmen using traditional techniques.

Eleven en-suite bedrooms are spread across the house, among them two grand suites, the Don Pelayo and the Reina Gaudiosa. Antiques sit alongside contemporary design pieces, and the rooms look out over the estuary and the fishing boats of the little port below.

Terraced gardens descend towards the water, with a heated pool, outdoor dining areas and private access to the harbour. The Playa de Arnao is about twenty minutes away on foot, and the surfing beach of Peñarronda a short drive. Further afield, the Picos de Europa and the Camino de Santiago make this one of the most rewarding bases in green Spain.
