Hale 'Ae Kai

Hale 'Ae Kai is a Balinese-inspired estate perched on the clifftops of Kilauea, on the lush north shore of Kauai. Set within a gated, 15-acre organic farm, it looks out over the Pacific with views that run from the peak of Bali Hai to the Kilauea Lighthouse.

The estate is made up of four pavilions linked by breezeways and footbridges, set among tropical gardens, fruit trees and ponds. The main pavilion holds a gourmet kitchen, living room, media room, office and wet bar, while the master pavilion has a king suite of more than 1,100 square feet with a spa bath. Two further guest pavilions each have a king suite, so four couples can share the estate while enjoying real privacy.

Outside, an infinity-edge pool and spa face the ocean, and indoor-outdoor showers and private lanais make the most of the island air. A fitness studio has Cybex equipment, a Pilates reformer and a table-tennis table.

The estate's greatest treasure is its private trail. From in front of the house it winds down for around ten minutes to Secret Beach, one of the most beautiful and least crowded beaches on Kauai. A dedicated host can arrange private chef dinners and guided hikes, and the boutiques of Kilauea and the beaches of Hanalei are a short drive away.
