Casa Akama
Casa Akama sits on one of the most coveted stretches of sand in Punta Mita, the private resort community on Mexico's Pacific coast. Designed by the celebrated Mexican architect Manolo Mestre, with interiors by Joaquín Homs, it is a modern beachfront estate where manicured lawns run straight down to a calm, swimmable beach.
A vast heated infinity pool wraps around the front of the house, lined with daybeds, and an oversized hot tub looks out across the Bay of Banderas towards the Marietas Islands. Life revolves around the grand palapa, with its bar and a dining table for 18, while a rooftop bar with a fire pit is made for stargazing. Floor-to-ceiling glass opens the living and dining rooms to sweeping sea views.
Nine en-suite bedrooms, four of them oceanfront master suites, sleep up to 20 guests. For downtime there is a Dolby Atmos cinema, a family room, a Technogym gym and a private spa.
The service is exceptional: a staff of ten, including daily housekeeping, and a private chef who prepares three meals a day with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Guests also enjoy access to Punta Mita's golf courses, tennis and pickleball courts and beach clubs, and fireworks, live music or a yacht day can all be arranged.
