Villa Marie

Villa Marie sits just beyond the walls of Lucca, in the gentle countryside of northern Tuscany. Set on two hectares with its own private lake, the 18th-century estate was fully renovated between 2018 and 2020, and combines the charm of a historic Tuscan villa with every modern comfort.

The interiors celebrate the past: Tessieri tiles, Murano chandeliers and antique furniture, with a lift serving every floor. Three lounges, a library and a formal dining room for twelve fill the main floor, alongside a country-style kitchen. The main villa has six en-suite bedrooms, most with king-size beds, and a separate three-bedroom guesthouse, less formal in style, suits teenagers or travelling staff, for eighteen guests in all.

The grounds are a joy to explore, with themed gardens including an Art Garden and a Wedding Garden with a gazebo draped in white wisteria. The estate produces its own organic vegetables, olive oil, jams and candied fruit, and lemons from the grove are turned into juice and limoncello.

There is an outdoor pool for summer and a heated indoor pool with sauna and hammam for the cooler months, as well as a helipad. A property manager, concierge, chef, butler and housekeeping team look after the house, with an Italian breakfast each morning and a welcome aperitif and Tuscan basket on arrival.
