Villa le Masse
Villa le Masse sits in the heart of Chianti, a short walk from the hilltop village of Panzano and its celebrated butchers, wine bars and trattorias. Florence and Siena are each around forty minutes by car, and the ancient Pieve di San Leolino, one of the region's oldest churches, is just a few minutes away on foot.
The estate's history stretches back more than six centuries, with its first written record dating to 1368. It has grown slowly over the centuries, and its present owners have restored the buildings and gardens with great care, keeping the warmth of old Tuscan stone while adding every modern comfort.
The house sleeps up to twelve guests in en-suite bedrooms, with living spaces that include a cinema room and an air-conditioned gym equipped for cardio, Pilates and TRX training, along with Swedish and infrared saunas for after a day exploring the hills.
Outside, a magnesium saltwater infinity pool looks out over the vineyards and olive groves, with an open-air shower and hot tub nearby. A courtyard with a pizza oven is made for informal evenings, and a long table for twelve sits in the shade of a great oak tree. Daily housekeeping, breakfast and a caretaker-gardener are part of the stay, and a welcome dinner marks the first evening.
