Villa Lage
Villa Lage sits on four hectares within the Ria Formosa Natural Park near Tavira, on the eastern Algarve. Here the lagoon, salt marshes and barrier islands create a protected landscape of rare beauty, and the villa looks out over the water to the Atlantic beyond.
It is a house built around privacy, personal service and time spent outdoors. Six en-suite bedrooms face south over the gardens and lagoon, sleeping twelve guests, and shaded, elevated terraces and lounge areas look across the landscaped grounds.
There are two heated pools, one for lively days with friends and family and a shallower one, around a metre deep, for quieter moments. A solid wooden table seats fourteen for meals outdoors, and there is a barbecue, ping pong and pétanque for long afternoons.
The water is never far away. Guests can walk down to the lagoon's edge, paddle by kayak or paddleboard to a nearby uninhabited island with long stretches of white sand, or take the villa's private boat and captain from its own pier to a secluded beach. A house chef prepares breakfast and dinner six days a week, focused on Mediterranean dishes made with local seafood, herbs and produce, and daily housekeeping is included.
