Villa Il Santo
Villa Il Santo sits on a hillside in the Chianti countryside near Barberino Tavarnelle, looking out across vineyards and the green valley towards the towers of San Gimignano. Florence, Siena and San Gimignano itself are all within around forty minutes, and the village of Barberino is only a few minutes away.
The house is a clever marriage of old and new. A medieval watchtower and a former hay barn have been restored and joined by a glass walkway, creating a home of around 730 square metres with a calm, earthy palette, rustic touches and every modern comfort, from climate control to high-end fittings.
There are eight en-suite bedrooms for sixteen guests, spread between the main house, the tower and a self-contained studio with its own entrance. Three living areas give everyone room to spread out, and a modern kitchen serves a dining room for up to sixteen.
Outside, the heated infinity pool looks straight towards San Gimignano, with a lawned garden, a large drinks terrace, an outdoor kitchen and a covered terrace with a table for sixteen. Stays begin with an arrival dinner, breakfast and a wine tasting, with a case of Tuscan wine, fresh flowers and daily housekeeping included. A chef, transfers and excursions can be added.
