Villa Farallon
Villa Farallon sits on a cliff above the Caribbean in Casa de Campo, the celebrated resort community near La Romana on the Dominican Republic's south-east coast. Tucked away at the end of a private cul-de-sac, it looks straight out to sea, with nothing between the terraces and the horizon.
The architecture is contemporary, with clean lines, floor-to-ceiling windows and terraces that lead the eye to the water. Inside, the open-plan spaces have vaulted ceilings, dark wood accents and contemporary art, with two full kitchens, a formal dining room with bar, a media room, gym and office.
Ten en-suite bedrooms make it a natural choice for large families and groups. Two ocean-facing master suites take the best of the view, and several further rooms have sea-view balconies, while three apartment-style suites with kitchenettes and terraces give extra independence. Every room has its own refrigerator and coffee machine.
Outdoors, a large saltwater infinity pool runs along the oceanfront, with a jacuzzi, shaded lounges and a gazebo with living and dining areas. A covered terrace holds a barbecue and pizza oven, and a fire pit takes over after dark. A villa manager, chef, butler, housekeeping and security look after the household, and two golf carts make it easy to explore the resort's beaches, marina and golf.
