Villa Collalto
Villa Collalto rises above the rolling hills of the Val d'Elsa, between Florence and Siena, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and roads lined with cypress trees. For centuries the estate belonged to the Counts Mandosi Mignanelli, and its 15th-century main villa still carries the dignity of a great Tuscan family home.
The estate has been fully renovated, its historic character carefully kept while modern comforts have been added throughout. Inside, a large hall leads to three interconnecting dining rooms and a vaulted salon with an open fireplace, alongside an old millstone room, a private chapel, family rooms and a large professional kitchen.
The main villa has thirteen bedrooms, and two annexes, La Speziera and Il Serraglio, add three bedrooms each, so the whole estate sleeps up to 38 guests. That scale makes it ideal for family reunions, weddings and celebrations, with the gardens and chapel well suited to outdoor ceremonies.
Days can be as active or as leisurely as you like. There is a pool on a stone terrace, a jacuzzi, sauna and fitness suite, a tennis court with private coaching on request, and a loggia for long dinners looking out over the vines. A concierge, gardener and daily cleaning are included, and chefs, wine tastings, cookery courses, truffle hunting, Vespa tours and hot-air balloon flights can be arranged.
