Villa Claudia
Villa Claudia stands in Doukades, a traditional village in the hills of north-west Corfu, surrounded by olive groves, palm trees and open countryside. The beaches of Paleokastritsa, including the lovely cove of Rovinia, are a short drive away, and Corfu's Old Town is within easy reach.
The house is an 18th-century estate, crafted by Italian artisans and sometimes known as Castle Claudia, with a stone façade and intricate detailing that speak of Corfu's long Venetian and Italian influence. Its heritage features have been carefully kept, paired with modern comforts, bright bedrooms and thoughtfully chosen furnishings.
Inside, around 800 square metres hold seven bedrooms for twelve guests, along with a fully equipped kitchen, a fireplace, a wine cellar and an office. On a plot of around 7,000 square metres, the gardens and spacious terraces offer quiet corners in the shade and a private pool for warm afternoons.
The setting suits a slower kind of holiday, with village tavernas nearby and the coast close enough for a daily swim. Daily housekeeping and concierge support are included, and a private chef, yoga and wellness sessions, and wine tastings led by qualified sommeliers can all be arranged.
