Villa Ada
Few houses on the Costa Smeralda sit as close to the water as Villa Ada, and fewer still come with their own dock. Set on the shoreline at Portisco, between Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo, it is one of the most sought-after private villas to rent in Sardinia.
A house built into the hillside
Villa Ada is the work of architect Ferdinando Fagnola, who set the house so low into the slope that it all but disappears when seen from the sea. Two single-storey wings meet at a central patio, and from the terrace in front the view runs a full 270 degrees across Porto Rotondo, the island of Mortorio and the bay of Cala di Volpe.
Life by the water
A 20-metre heated seawater pool lies along the front of the house, and a private path leads down to a secluded beach. The dock takes tenders and yachts of up to 15 metres, which puts the marinas, beach clubs and restaurants of the Costa Smeralda a short boat ride away. Four more sandy beaches are within walking distance.
Staying at Villa Ada
The villa has eight en-suite bedrooms and sleeps up to 15 guests, with separate quarters for staff. Housekeeping is included, and a private chef, driver, waiting staff and boat charter can be arranged on request.
