Ultima Corfu
Ultima Corfu steps down a cliff near Nissaki on Corfu's north-east coast, where the island comes closest to the mainland and the Ionian narrows into a sheltered channel. Across the water lie the Albanian coast and the ancient site of Butrint, and to the south the view runs towards mainland Greece and the outlying islands.
The villa covers around 1,000 square metres on a nine-stremma site with its own private seafront. Its terraces and dry-stone walls are built from pale stone excavated over three years, and the largely glass façade opens every level to the sea. Inside, contemporary design mixes with Indian and Moroccan pieces, and water runs through the house, from a copper-panelled feature at the entrance to the gardens.
Six en-suite bedrooms sleep twelve, all with sea views. The heart of the outdoor space is a pair of freshwater infinity pools on two levels, joined by a waterfall, with a pool bar, yoga pergola and terraces stepping down to a private dock.
Ultima's service is all-encompassing. Guests can arrive by boat directly from Corfu airport, and a villa manager, private chef and butler, on hand from early morning until midnight, take care of every meal and detail. A mosaic hammam, gym and relaxation room come with a therapist for up to four hours a day, and there is a private cinema for evenings in.
