Tara House
Tara House sits on a hilltop near Speightstown in the parish of St Peter, looking out over Barbados' west coast towards the calm Caribbean and its sunsets. It is a contemporary villa with a relaxed, polished style, designed to feel welcoming from the moment the gates open.
The main level is open and breezy, flowing out to a covered patio, sun deck and saltwater pool with a floating tanning deck. Around it, a pool bar, lounge and barbecue area make it easy to spend whole days outdoors, while landscaped tropical gardens and a yoga pavilion add quieter corners.
There are four bedrooms for eight guests, each with its own character. The principal suite, the Sanctuary, has a private balcony, its own office and a bathroom with tub and double showers. The Ocean and Garden rooms open to the gardens with outdoor tubs and showers, and the Terrace room has a private terrace of its own.
Wellbeing is built in, with an infrared sauna and Peloton gym, and four separate living and dining areas give everyone room to spread out. Daily housekeeping, a manager and concierge, and a private chef with pre-stocking make for an easy, unhurried stay, with the beaches and restaurants of the west coast close by.
