Maximus
MAXIMUS is one of the most remarkable sailing yachts on the charter market: a 59-metre ketch built by Vitters to a design by Germán Frers, pairing the grace of a classic yacht with the pace of a thoroughbred racer. Delivered in December 2023, she carries teak deckhouses, sheltered cockpits and a sweeping sheer line above the water, with twin rudders, a lifting keel and a powerful sail plan below and aloft.
Her performance is proven. MAXIMUS made her regatta debut at the 2024 St Barths Bucket and went on to finish second in class at the Superyacht Cup Palma the same year. For guests, that pedigree means sailing in the truest sense, with the option to take in the view from the crow's nest at the top of the main mast.
The interior, by Spencer-Churchill Designs, is warm and quietly traditional. Nautical paintings and antiques sit alongside a Steinway baby grand piano in the lower lounge, while the upper deck lounge offers a well-stocked bar and deep seating. A formal dining room converts to a meeting room, and the forward cockpit provides generous space for dining and entertaining in the open air.
Accommodation is for eight guests in four cabins. The full-beam master suite lies aft, with its own private deckhouse and cockpit, his-and-hers bathrooms, a steam shower and a jacuzzi bath. A double cabin and two cabins that convert between double and twin complete the guest accommodation, with two additional berths available.
With a crew of nine, a pair of working cannons on deck and a finish that reflects the very best of Dutch yacht building, MAXIMUS suits those who want an authentic and active charter without giving up any comfort.
MAXIMUS has a lifting keel, drawing 5m with the keel raised and 8m when fully lowered. Not available for charter to US residents while in US waters.
