Set within a pristine nature reserve overlooking the Hermanus Klein River Lagoon, in the charming town of Stanford, this secluded retreat offers a luxurious all-inclusive or self-catering escape, perfect for unforgettable stays with family and friends in South Africa’s Overberg region.
Surrounded by 160 hectares (400 acres) of untouched wilderness, the villa is immersed in vibrant fynbos and boasts sweeping views across a tranquil estuary framed by dramatic mountain ranges.
Designed in a sleek, contemporary style, the villa features carefully curated African artefacts and artwork, creating a space that feels both refined and connected to its surroundings. A heated infinity pool and expansive deck overlook the lagoon and its abundant birdlife, offering a peaceful sanctuary in nature, with only distant homes visible across the water.
Committed to conservation and community upliftment, the villa supports the preservation of natural habitats and enhances access to early childhood education across sub-Saharan Africa, with all profits contributing to these initiatives.
Available exclusively for private use, this four-bedroom villa is a rare sanctuary, an idyllic, private escape set within the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom.
Location and access: Conveniently situated on the renowned Garden Route, within driving distance of Cape Town, Hermanus, and Stanford, the property serves as a tranquil base for exploring some of the Western Cape’s most captivating destinations. It provides access to an otherwise inaccessible 18km isolated beach within the Walker Conservancy. Guests can also enjoy boating on the Lagoon, guided birdlife walks along its shores, horse riding, and quad biking. Wildlife enthusiasts may even have the opportunity to encounter rare species, such as caracals and African wild cats, amidst the Fynbos.
Whale watching, a well-known activity in the region, shark cage diving, trips to neighbouring wine estates, mountain biking, and golfing are all easily accessible. The charming town of Stanford, with its boutique shops, cafes, and restaurants, is just a ten-minute drive away. Additionally, several renowned upscale restaurants are nearby, catering to food enthusiasts.
The villa is approximately a 2-hour drive from Cape Town City Centre and 1.5 hours from Cape Town International Airport, accessible via well-maintained roads. Helicopter flights from Cape Town to the property can be arranged at an additional charge.
Accommodation: The villa has been thoughtfully designed to harmonise with the natural landscape, offering breathtaking views of the Lagoon, mountains, and Fynbos from every room. Inside, the living spaces are bright and spacious, providing an ideal setting to unwind and relax.
Step outside through folding glass doors onto the expansive deck, where an infinity pool seemingly hovers above the Lagoon. Covered outdoor areas furnished with comfortable sofas offer a shaded vantage point to observe the birds and breathe in the fragrant scents of the Fynbos.
