Private Cotswold Estate of Historic Stone Houses and Gardens

Deep in the north Cotswolds, a short drive from Stow-on-the-Wold, this is a private estate of five historic stone houses set in some 14.5 acres of gardens, meadow and water. Taken exclusively, the whole estate is yours: 15 bedrooms for up to 30 guests, with every house, garden and facility reserved for your party alone.

At its heart is a Grade I listed manor house whose history reaches back to the fifteenth century. Mullioned windows, beamed ceilings, flagstone floors and great open fireplaces set the tone, with antiques and artworks gathered from around the world. Across the courtyard, the Barn is lighter and more relaxed, its themed suites mixing Provençal ease with contemporary comfort beneath soaring timber roofs. The Granary is the estate's playful counterpoint — contemporary art, quirky furnishings and industrial finishes overlooking the tennis court — while the Cow Byre is a snug one-bedroom hideaway with its own small garden.

The gardens are the estate's quiet triumph, unfolding in a series of borders, kitchen beds and walled spaces, including a secret garden with its own open-sided Peacock Shed. Beyond lies a lake for rowing, paddleboarding and wild swimming.

Days here can be as active or as slow as you like: a heated outdoor pool open all year, hot tubs at both principal houses, an all-weather tennis court, a gym, a pilates and yoga studio, a treatment room and a hidden cinema for rainy afternoons. A dedicated team and in-house chef can take care of as much or as little as you wish, from breakfast baskets to long candlelit dinners — making the estate equally suited to family gatherings, milestone celebrations, intimate weddings and team retreats.

Rates are for exclusive use of the full estate. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 11am. A 50% deposit is taken on booking, with the balance due 8 weeks before arrival.
