Pompey
Pompey is the Jamaican estate of the DJ and producer Diplo, a creative refuge set between the green hills of Port Antonio and the Caribbean Sea, in one of the most secluded corners of the island's north-east coast. Spread across 62 acres, its striking Brutalist architecture, designed by Brooklyn studio Freecell Architecture, cantilevers over the tropical foliage.
The 8,500-square-foot main residence and its surrounding buildings are designed for living, creating, wellness, farming and riding. At their heart, landscaped gardens and terraces surround a saltwater infinity pool. A recording studio of more than 2,000 square feet, with a control room and its own suite, has made Pompey a retreat for artists, and a two-floor gym holds integrated wellness facilities.
Eight suites sleep up to 16 guests. The grounds include a regenerative farm and orchard, beehives, equestrian facilities with riding trails, and paths for walking, e-biking and ATVs. Pompey runs on solar power and collected rainwater, and it has its own helicopter access.
All food and drink is included. A full-time chef cooks with the day's produce from the farm, with no fixed menus or mealtimes, and a team of housekeepers, servers, farmers and riding staff look after the estate. San San Beach is reached directly, the Blue Lagoon is about five minutes away by boat, and surf breaks are around ten minutes by car.
