Panacea Retreat

Purana Residence is a fully staffed four-bedroom villa at Panacea Retreat, a private estate in the hills of Koh Samui overlooking tropical rainforest and the Gulf of Samui. The estate's lush gardens were designed by Bill Bensley, one of Asia's most celebrated landscape and hotel designers.

The great room sets the tone, with walls of glass, a high peaked ceiling, hand-woven fabrics and carved furniture. A formal dining area seats eight, and there is a fully equipped kitchen, an outdoor kitchen and an alfresco dining area. Outside, an infinity pool with a swim-up bar looks out over the hills to the sea.

Four bedrooms sleep up to eight guests, each with a king-size bed, an en-suite bathroom with a rain shower and its own balcony or terrace, making Purana Residence ideal for family celebrations and small groups of friends.

A villa manager, butler, housekeeper and private chef, cooking both Thai and Western dishes, look after every detail, with freshly baked cookies and smoothies each day. Thai cooking lessons, massage and yoga can be arranged. Bophut's Fisherman's Village is about three kilometres away, the beaches of Chaweng and Maenam around eight, and Samui Airport around nine.
