Palazzo Bernardini de Pace

Palazzo Bernardini de Pace

Palazzo Bernardini de Pace is an aristocratic residence in Bagnolo del Salento, in the Terra d'Otranto at the heel of Puglia. Restored with great care, it extends across more than 3,000 square metres and two wings, wrapped around a hidden walled garden, with views over the village piazza and church.

Six bedroom suites, each with its own bathroom, accommodate twelve guests. The interiors are rich in marble, alabaster and onyx, and more than a hundred pieces of Venini glass are displayed throughout the house. The palazzo has been featured in AD Italia.

Despite the grandeur, the atmosphere is warm and family-friendly. The Adriatic coast is around twenty minutes away, with the fortified port of Otranto and the clifftop castle of Castro close by, while baroque Lecce and Gallipoli make easy day trips.
