Masterfully Restored Gino Coppedè-Designed Historical Villa in Portofino, Italy

This cliffside jewel nestled on the Italian Riviera in Portofino commands exceptional views of the Bay of Portofino and Paraggi. With its privileged position on a promontory just above Punta Caiega, the independent villa offers up to 12 guests palatial seclusion, yet easy access to Portofino and the 5-star services of nearby Belmond hotels, Splendido and Splendido Mare.

Set over four storeys, the majestic building was commissioned by the famous Ligurian entrepreneur, Attilio Odero, to be a lavish summer residence. It was designed in 1912 by the great Tuscan architect, Gino Coppedè, who is famed for his work in Liguria. It has been carefully and restored, maintaining all of its original and awe-inspiring facade, while the interiors have been masterfully elevated.

Available for exclusive use only, the villa comprises four suites in the main villa, plus a bedroom in the separate stone guesthouse, La Casetta, which also benefits from its own plunge pool. Guests can spread out in generous living spaces, a fully equipped terrace with bar for up to 30 people, a furnished rooftop terrace at the top of the Torretta (little tower), a private garden pool with sun loungers, a gym and outdoor fitness area. Surrounded by 6,000 sq m of luxuriant national park gardens, the villa also boasts a delightful sea garden with direct access to the Mediterranean.

The interior design by Martin Brudnizki showcases Ligurian craftsmanship and heritage, including terracotta flooring, stylish rattan furniture and a carefully curated collection of art and antiques. Murano-glass chandeliers and fixtures grace the roofs and walls of the voluminous rooms, while rooftop frescos hand-painted by local artisans adorn the sun-lit spaces. All of the well-appointed bedrooms feature stunning views.

Guests can enjoy a dedicated butler, private parking, in-villa spa experiences and a private boat, upon request, for tailor-made itineraries along the Italian Riviera. A private chef, cooking classes and alfresco dining, with bespoke menus, are also available.

Private banquets can be hosted on the terrace or intimate aperitifs for 4-6 people in the tower. Private boat adventures and chef-led cooking classes can be enjoyed, as well as complimentary facilities at Splendido, such as tennis and the sublime Dior Spa.
