Lily of the Valley St Tropez is a wellness-focused retreat located on the Mediterranean coastline in La Croix Valmer, just a short 20-minute drive from St Tropez past Ramatuelle.
Surrounded by protected nature reserves on the Saint Tropez pensinsula, the stunning property has breathtaking views of the sea – especially from Vista, the hotel’s poolside terrace restaurant.
Designed by Philippe Stark, the 5-star hotel nestles in the hills above the sandy Gigaro Beach. The design stipulated that all buildings must blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings and that no building be taller than the trees.
The WHM group, chaired by the entrepreneur Alain Weill, called upon Starck to “imagine a paradise on earth, a haven of well-being, calm and soothing, where man and nature find themselves in harmony.”
The result is an architecture inspired both by Californian villas and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon: an open, permeable space where light, colours and vegetation naturally merge in the interiors and exterior. The 38 rooms and 6 suites are organised into houses set into the nature and arranged around the outdoor pool.
The design aims to inspire guests to discover a warm and soothing atmosphere throughout the year in order to relax and be inspired.
All my life, I have dreamt of being here.
Somewhere between a subconscious Antiquity and extreme modernity, which is without doubt the best place in the world to live. It is the fulfillment of my physiological dream of architecture.” Philippe Stark
Lily of the Valley welcomes guests year-round, who come to enjoy structured wellness offerings ranging from detox programs to energy treatments and immersive sports and yoga retreats.
“The Village” is a wellness centre of more than 2,000m2 that also has a swimming pool along with the latest fitness and treatment equipment. Here coaches and therapists provide tailor-made activities and programs alongside juices and special dietician and naturopath-designed menus that strike the perfect balance between pleasure of the senses and health and wellbeing goals.
Lily of the Valley’s Vista restaurant is perfectly positioned to take in the sunset. The Provencal and Mediterranean restaurant features an outdoor swimming pool facing the sea and a bar, with a menu that focuses on local cuisine with organic food and many generous vegan and vegetarian options.
Overall, Lily of the Valley is an intimate, welcoming and relaxing escape.
