La Villa Dubrovnik
La Villa Dubrovnik is set in Trsteno, a small seaside village around 18 kilometres along the coast from Dubrovnik. Its neighbour is the Trsteno Arboretum, a Renaissance garden laid out in the 1490s by a Ragusan noble family, the oldest arboretum on the Dalmatian coast, and famous today as the palace gardens of King's Landing in Game of Thrones.
The villa is surrounded by Mediterranean greenery, with views out over the Adriatic. Its private pool is the centrepiece of the garden, and two large terraces host breakfast, long lunches and dinners, with an outdoor barbecue for summer evenings. Inside, there is a professionally equipped kitchen, air conditioning throughout and space for everyone to spread out.
Six double rooms sleep up to 12 guests, with five bathrooms. Three rooms are on the ground floor, and upstairs two master suites each have a king-size bed, a bathroom with a tub and shower, a walk-in wardrobe and a small balcony. A sixth room, in a side annex, has twin beds that convert to a double, its own bathroom and a walk-in closet.
A villa manager looks after the house, with daily cleaning and beach towels included, and a chef, transfers, a driver and yacht charters can be arranged. Dubrovnik's walled Old City and the Elaphite Islands are within easy reach.
