La Gabbia
Villa La Gabbia is a rare, listed villa at the water's edge on Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, built nearly a century ago and carefully restored to its original appearance. Facing west across the Bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer, it enjoys some of the most beautiful sunsets on the Riviera.
The house steps down the hillside over five floors, so that windows and terraces on every level frame the sea. Generous terraces lead down towards the water, with direct access to the sea for swimming from the rocks. Inside, a designer interior of marble, parquet, fine art and bespoke furniture pairs elegantly with the villa's period architecture, and discreet modern systems and integrated security bring it up to date.
The villa sleeps up to 12 guests, and there is a spa with a jacuzzi and a sauna, a salon, a dining room and both a main kitchen and a summer kitchen.
The service is complete. A non-resident villa manager, two full-time housekeepers, a chef and a butler, each covering breakfast, lunch and dinner, look after the household, with a champagne and flowers welcome, luxury toiletries and twice-weekly linen changes. The village and harbour of Saint-Jean are close by, Villefranche and Beaulieu are a short drive away, and Monaco and Nice airport are within easy reach.
