La Bastide Des Marres
La Bastide des Marres is a restored Provençal bastide dating from 1872, set among vineyards on the Route des Plages between the village of Saint-Tropez and the beaches of Pampelonne. Its yellow-and-white façade and green shutters sit amid lavender and olive trees, the picture of a classic country house in the south of France.
The garden is a joy. An original stone swimming pool lies at its heart, surrounded by lawns, a boules pitch, table tennis and a brazier for evenings outdoors, and an organic garden supplies fruit and vegetables for the kitchen.
Inside, a large family kitchen is the natural gathering place, joined by three sitting rooms, one with its original fireplace, and a games room with a pool table. Seven bedrooms sleep up to 14 guests. On the first floor, the master suite has its own staircase, and a family suite of two connecting bedrooms suits parents with young children. The top floor has a dormitory-style television room for children and a gym with its own bathroom overlooking the grounds.
A full team, including a chef, butler, housekeeping and a driver, looks after the house, with a champagne welcome and fresh flowers. Boat trips, helicopter transfers, wine tours and massages can be arranged, and the beach clubs of Pampelonne and the old port of Saint-Tropez are minutes away.
