Contemporary Seafront Villa with Views to Formentera, Es Cubells, Ibiza

On the south-west coast of Ibiza, below the village of Es Cubells, this six-bedroom villa stands on the first line to the sea, with its own access to the water and a view that runs south across the strait to Formentera. The house sits within some 7,000 square metres of grounds, well away from the island's busier stretches of coast, yet only ten minutes from the beach restaurants of Cala Jondal.

Completely refurbished in 2012, the villa offers around 500 square metres of living space in a crisp, whitewashed contemporary style: clean lines, pale floors and glass balustrades that keep the attention firmly on the view. The living room, dining room and kitchen all open out to the terraces.

Outside is where most of the day is spent. Terraces arranged around the pool take in a bar, a barbecue, three separate lounging areas and two outdoor dining spaces, so there is always a shaded corner for lunch and somewhere facing the sunset for dinner.

The six bedrooms sleep twelve, and each is air-conditioned with its own bathroom, private terrace and sea view. The principal suite occupies the upper floor: 42 square metres with two large terraces facing south and west, a double dressing room and a marble bathroom with bath and walk-in shower, also looking out to Formentera. The sixth bedroom is set apart from the main house, giving an older child or guest a little independence.

A sandy beach lies around five minutes away, and the villa's private access to the sea includes mooring for larger boats, which makes arriving by tender or spending a day on the water around Formentera remarkably easy. San José is ten minutes by car, Ibiza Town around twenty and the airport around fifteen.

Housekeeping is included for eight hours a day, with bed linen and towels changed every three days, and pool towels and bathroom products provided. The villa has Wi-Fi and satellite TV throughout, safes in the three main bedrooms and garage parking for five cars. A private chef, waiters, a car with or without driver, concierge services, massage and personal security can all be arranged on request.
