Château Saint-Maur
Château Saint-Maur is an 18th-century château in Cogolin, set among 15 hectares of vineyards, orchards and gardens overlooking the medieval village of Grimaud, about ten minutes from Saint-Tropez. Its wines hold Cru Classé status, a distinction shared by only a handful of estates in Provence, and it is part of the Zannier Private Estates collection.
The renovation has been carried out with flair. Classical architecture meets contemporary design, and more than 60 artworks hang throughout the house. There are three living rooms, one with an open fire, two dining rooms, a grand piano, a wine cellar and a Gentleman's Club, spread across three levels and three outbuildings, with a belfry, a lift, a terraced English garden and a covered winter garden.
The estate's surprises are part of its charm. A swimming pool has been created within a former sheepfold, a chapel takes its inspiration from Tuscan cathedrals, and a private nightclub has its own bar, DJ booth and dance floor. There is a spa with a hammam, a tennis court, a games room and space for yoga and fitness.
Eight bedrooms sleep up to 15 guests, and the whole estate is let exclusively. It is fully staffed, with a butler, cook, maids, security and concierge, and a private tasting in the vineyard and cellar is included. Guests can join the harvest, dine among the vines or ride guided trails. A helipad at La Môle is about ten kilometres away.
