Located on the west coast of Phuket, Amanpuri overlooks the blue expanse of the Andaman Sea from a sheltered private headland. Aman’s flagship property, opened in 1988, offers 40 spacious Thai-styled guest Pavilions and 40 Villas, discreetly positioned in a grove of coconut palms. 

At the foot of a sweep of stone steps lies the secluded white crescent of Pansea Beach. Combining the Sanskrit-derived word for ‘peace’ with the Thai word puri, meaning ‘place’, Amanpuri exudes all the classic grace of its design inspiration: Thailand’s ancient capital, Ayutthaya. This is reflected in the resort’s pitched rooflines, curved eaves and warm woods.

Amanpuri offers several dining venues overlooking the main swimming pool and the beach. Open all day, poolside Buabok specialises in exquisite Southern Thai cuisine, expertly prepared with authentic local ingredients. Also poolside, Italian restaurant Arva is open for lunch and dinner, creating sophisticated dishes from the bold, heart-warming flavours of Italy’s cucina semplice tradition. Just a few steps from Arva, The Sunset Terrace offers a relaxed ambiance with panoramic views of the Andaman Sea, perfect for sunset drinks and celebrations. Inside, a walk-in wine room also features more than 300 varieties from world-class producers.

Opposite is Nama, which showcases traditional Japanese washoku cuisine, combining seasonal Japanese ingredients with local Phuket produce. Down on the shore, the Beach Terrace offers alfresco dining with Thai and international lunches, while new-era beach club and dining destination Nura provides Mediterranean-style grilled meats and seafood, cocktails and sharing plates. 

The extensive Eco-Beach Discovery Centre with its nature museum, crafting area and daily programmes for children aged up to 12 years lies alongside Nura. The nearby Hot Spot – an adventure sport, music and tech hub for teenagers aged 12 and older – features a climbing wall, skateboarding half-ramp, recording studio and screening room. Guests can also take advantage of the host of watersports on offer or go island-hopping on one of Amanpuri’s serene yachts or speedboats. 

Enjoying a lush, hillside setting, the Amanpuri Holistic Wellness Centre offers the services of a certified medical team. These medical doctors, physiotherapists and other practitioners work alongside Aman’s experts in ancient healing techniques and alternative therapies. With an open-minded holistic ethos and state-of-the-art technology, the Centre offers integrative, anti-ageing, sport and aesthetic medical services, as well as advanced diagnostics, which complement the more traditional wellness therapies and spa treatments available. 

The private Spa House offers exclusive access to hydrotherapy facilities, including a Vichy shower room, Banya sauna, IR sauna, steam room, indoor hot tub, and an outdoor pool and Jacuzzi. Guests can enjoy bespoke treatments with a dedicated spa therapist for a rejuvenating experience.
