A Private Georgian Townhouse in Marylebone

Behind a discreet door on one of Marylebone's quietest Georgian streets lies one of London's most unusual addresses: a six-bedroom townhouse taken exclusively, so that for the length of your stay every room is yours. No other guests, no shared lounges, no lobby — simply a beautifully kept private house with a small, discreet team on hand.

The house wears its history lightly, with interiors that reimagine the Regency with a glamorous hand: deep colour, rich velvets and stripes, four-poster beds, antique furniture and a collection of artwork that rewards a second look. Each of the six bedrooms has its own character and is finished with fine linen and every modern comfort.

The reception rooms flow easily from one to the next. The panelled Georgian kitchen, centred on an Aga and a long refectory table, is where breakfast is freshly prepared each morning and where candlelit dinners unfold in the evening. A light-filled sitting room beneath a crystal chandelier is made for afternoon tea or an evening glass of English cuvée; a second sitting room next door is smarter and more spirited. A snug styled on a vintage railway carriage hides on the first-floor landing, and a small heated terrace offers fresh air above the city in every season.

Oxford Street, Hyde Park and the boutiques and restaurants of Marylebone High Street are all within a short walk, yet the house feels entirely removed from them. It suits a family gathering, a milestone celebration or a longer London stay equally well — the warmth of a private home, with the quiet attentiveness of a very good hotel.

Rates are based on up to 12 guests (with a further two possible via sofa bed, plus a pull-out sofa for children under 12); longer-stay rates are available on request. Minimum stay is 2 nights, rising to 7 nights over Christmas and New Year, with festive rates applying from 18 December. Check-in is from 3pm and check-out by 10.30am. A 50% deposit is taken on booking, with the balance due 8 weeks before arrival.
